this is a mainstream ad from the 1950s. fabulous enough! do you realize that you'd never see an ad like this in a straight rag today? over 50 years later! that makes me quite sad...

Come on, the 'senoritas' in the middle know their guys are gay. They have nicer blouses on and those hankies? Dead giveaway. Times are exactly the same.

I remember flipping through the channels a few years ago and seeing Orson Welles in a Henry Jaglom film. He was lamenting the loss of the word "gay" to its current connotation.

I couldn't quite tell if he was serious, or was it a put-on.
