Katie, dahlink, I just read Keep It Trill's post, and it broke my heart. Today, we are poised for an unprecedented bailout of Wall Street, giving sole power to Henry Paulson over a lot of money. Meanwhile, the poor are reduced to chasing HIV to get benefits. What is wrong with this nation?

First, the terrific news: You know that e-mail everyone's been sending around, encouraging people to donate to Planned Parenthood in the name of Sarah Palin? So far, it has yielded $802,678 in donations from over 31,000 people, from all 50 states, two-thirds of whom are first-time donors. Thank-you notes to Palin, care of the McCain campaign headquarters, will begin going out next week.

This was handled very nicely as a NOT-Palin gesture.

Katie, DAHLING thank you so much for the hat tip! I am just SO appalled at all of Ms. Mooseburger's horrid doings. Marrying off her child the second she turns 18 for political gain. Charging women for rape kits. OMG, where does it ever end?

Menses just commenced. It's 1:14 AM. I was asleep. That felt good. At 12:24, I popped up. I think I'm awake, maybe awakeish is more accurate. I'm always surprised when those handy-soapy-foamy-bottles run out of soap. For some lame ass reason, it never occurs to me that they ever will. They feel so lifetime supply , even though the bottles aren't more than 8 inches tall. Similarly, when I flip on a light switch and the light flickers to its death, I think "Now what?" Duh, schmuckette, you change the fucking light bulb . Intellectually, I know this, yet for some odd reason, it never comes to mind. In fact, a few years ago, my mother walked into my house and said, "Why aren't the lights working?" I said "I don't know, I flick the switch and they don't work."
